Fan Belt Change Pro Tech 8KW generator

I got around to changing my generator fan belt today.  Not an easy job due to poor engineering of exhaust system which prohibits full extension of generator on rollers.  Generator is Pro Tech's 8 KW mounted to Isuzu 3LB1 engine.  I used a NAPA 7325 belt and it fit perfectly.  My engine has an idler pulley on inboard side for slack adjustment.  The dimensions for the belt are on back of sleeve in photo.

If you have a side generator like ours, poor is an understatement for the exhaust system. It lies against the insulation and burned through ours and was working on the plywood underneath. The muffler is also the lowest thing under the coach. Changing to a muffler in the compartment and a exhaust with more ground clearance.

Good to be able to put something like a tractor pin in the extension for the generator so it will stay out rather than trying to slide back in a bit. You need it all the way out so getting to the belt adjustment is easier. Was thinking that both the adjustment nut and the pivot nut are 12mm but could be 13mm. Having the generator all the way out makes changing the engine mounts a lot easier. Outside mounts are super easy but inside are harder. The mounts we ordered fit perfectly and were relatively cheap.

See my post photos from a couple of weeks ago.
