Air dryer

Rebuilt the Haldex Pure Air Plus air dryer. Been 8 years since a complete rebuild. Actually the lower part of the dryer, purge valve, turbo saver, one way check valve where clean and in good shape. Replace it all anyway. The isolation valve Haldex KN23500 is a bit of a bugger. The 2 1/8" fittings aren't coming out. I ordered a new valve, now the dirt. I dissembled the old valve by removing the 1 1/4" fitting it's TIGHT there is a rubber seat/ seal a metal seat, and a piston with 2 o-rings. A trip to the hardware store for 3 o- rings, and a good cleaning it's rebuilt. Save yourself 50-75 bucks. Anyway I put the pieces out of the new valve into the old fitting to avoid running around trying to find  the 2 small fittings. Put everything back together all is good.
Bottom line nothing magical in the air dryer. But by the time you buy the upper filters and service kit and the lower kit and your time you can buy a genuine Haldex rebuilt unit. Especially if you are paying shop labor rates.
