docking light

Hello there Fellow Foretravelers!
We took our U320 38' out to a local RV park for the weekend and noticed one of our rear (driver side) docking lights were on, and we could not turn it off with our normal in-coach buttons. Desperate as to not annoy our 10-feet away neighbors we finally were able to shut it off using the coach battery chassis switch.

The next day we had to drive around with the one docking light on...

Any hint or idea what we might be missing here to turn it off?

Potential short. Pull light out and temporarily unplug it. Tape hot wire until u have time to trace the issue

Conventional docking lights draw a huge amount of juice. Ours even tripped the breaker. I replaced them with LEDs and can leave them on for hours without sapping the battery. Ours are the round style and available online. Think I got ours on ebay. Not expensive and easy on switches and breakers.

Do you have the dock light (panic light) switches in the bedroom, under the cabinets, above your head when in bed?  Are they off?

OK, thanks for the inquiry. Here are quite a few of the 4 inch LED lights. They can be wired with half or all LEDs on. I wired with all on. They don't draw much juice. The 3 holes (as I remember) are close but need a tiny bit of work to align. Some have the chrome ring, others black rubber. round led backup lights | eBay  See reply #3 at: Docking lights

On a 2003 the docking lights are rectangular and really don't do much good to help you back in

On our 89 GV, I have one damaged docking light housing,
(Where the lamp mounts). Where can I procure a replacement?

I wonder if a 4"x6" LED headlight would fit in the docking housing? 4"x6" led bulb | eBay I was thinking about measuring one for our roof spotlight.  One could be also fitted to the rear for backing.
