Fresh Water coming out of fresh water hose 2007 Nimbus 336

Hi there,

When we turn the pump on to use the water in our fresh tank it does not pressurize and water comes out of the fresh hose.  No leaks that we can see - It seems like we have a back flow valve issue.  I don't believe the flow valve under the bathroom sink is the issue because you can hear/feel the water start and stop.  Not sure where the back flow valve is for the fresh hose.  Any ideas?

For now to circumvent the situation we have the fresh water hose connected and pressurized then we can use the pump and our fresh water tank.  Of course it also works when connected directly to city water.

Thanks in advance - Kath & Mike

Not sure about that year.  In Carol and Jeff's 2002 it was at the bottom of the Manibloc.  In our 2003 it was behind the utility bay wall on the left side right after the line came from the hose reel side to the utility bay side of the bay partition.  We had to remove the upper portion of the utility bay wall to access it.

A stop-gap measure is to put a cap on the end of the fresh water hose.

Thank you for the response, we thought it must be close to the hose.  We do have a cap, but use quick releases so it would be inconvenient - but if we need to that is what we will do.

thanks again!

Another possible fix is to install a valve in the water line near the point where it connects to your hose reel.  You just need to locate a section of the plastic water line that is easily accessible.  Cut the line and remove a short piece.  Replace the removed piece with a SharkBite quarter turn ball valve.  The push-to-fit connections make installation a breeze.

Once the valve is installed you will never need to worry about the back flow preventer leaking again.

I had a 2007, you're correct that the valve under bath sink is the in-line shut off. My gut is that the manifold block (right rear bay) has the tank bypass closed and rather than pump water from tank it's looping it back to hose.
