What brand and what model fridge?

Can you detect any smell of ammonia in the close vicinity of the fridge?

Try opening the outside access hatch and check for ammonia smell or presence of yellow powder or stains on or around the cooling coils.

Even on gas, RV absorption fridges require 12V to operate. One of the first things to check. When I junked out our old RV, I put the old fridge in the garage and connected it to gas. No joy until I remembered to hook a 12v battery to it. Old 1978 Dometic fridge still works.

OP just sent me a PM that said:  Dometic RM1282    No smells of ammonia

Since we have a Samsung, I can't offer him any more assistance.  Told him to wait for the smart members to offer suggestions.

Do not operate the fridge until you know for definite that you don't have a leak.  Fridge fires are a very real possibility if it's leaking.  Check to see that you have 12 volt power to the unit and that there is propane as well.  My fridge died and there was no sign of leakage but it had leaked down.  I was lucky as it did not catch fire.

AGREE:

If 12 VDC confirmed and it will not cool on either 120 VAC or propane, TURN IT OFF.

These are exactly the conditions that most commonly lead to a fire (low coolant level and boiler just keeps heating).
