Aquahot Register Orientation

Been lurking on the forum for about a year now, reading as much as I could. We just started the renovation on our coach, first order of business was to take out the couch in our 36' 2000 U320 and replaced it with a small loveseat recliner - which gave us a lot more room between the couch and the drivers seat.  To give as much room as possible I'd like to build a small enclosure for the aquahot register so it is vertical instead of laying flat, but wanted to make sure this would not pose a problem (not sure if orientation is important or not for them - all the others in the coach appear to be horizontal). Does the register orientation matter?

Thanks, Tim

Tim, I don't believe there is any issue with orienting the AH heat exchanger vertically.  Make sure there is at least as much incoming air opening as output and the hoses are supported.  Rudy would have a definitive answer.

One of the hoses is incoming hot coolant and the other is outgoing coolant.  It would be best to have incoming on the lower end and outgoing on the upper end.  This helps prevent an air bubble being stuck in the fan coil.  All the best determining which is which.

We mounted our front aqua hot register vertical on our wall last year and there are no issues with this.  Works like it should.  Did not know about incoming or outgoing, like Rudy stated, but either it didn't make a difference or I got lucky!  Who knows.  I have photos on here doing our renovation of our coach flooring and installing 2 RecPro recliners!

I just want to reiterate what was said about making sure to properly support & route the hoses wherever you end up placing it.  I had one of my registers temporarily relocated during some interior work and stressed one hose, not thinking it would be an issue.  I was living in the coach at the time, and I woke up to a floor covered in anti-freeze due to a hose failure.  It failed right at the barb.  Bye bye carpet.
