Bay lights not working. Bulbs OK

Bay lights of Water manifold Bay and next Bay forward not working.  Bay lights of bay aft of Propane bay working OK.  All outlets working OK.  Bulbs good.  Need some troubleshooting guidance.

For me it is usually either a short in the switch on the door its self or the reset able CB in the driver side electrical panel in the second bay.

yes there are resettable little black breakers behind the white fibreglass panel in bay. Take it off and "feel" down the sides od the circuit brks and you will notice a tiny pin. Press it to reset.

I have found that the door button switch go bad.  Sometimes I can just twist the silver button and the light will work.  I have bought new switches, installed one that did not work right out of the new package.  So much for quality of some parts.  The others have mentioned the re-setable circuit breaker, do check those first.

I have been adding LED lighting to my bays and I too, have found that just wiggling wires connected to the mechanical pushbutton switches sometimes causes the circuit to fail. Where I can, in low power situations, I am using magnetic proximity switches with LED lights.

Cleaning a bay I whiped a rag over the light fixture and turned off the switch, not noticing the light went out  .  I checked lots of things before I found the switch was off.

To test the door switch just short across the terminals and turn the light on and off.  If no light and the bulb is good look at the fuse.  I will bet it's the switch though.

Old thread I know.  Bay lights are out and when I reset the breaker behind white panel they come on for a sec and then breaker pops again.  Any ideas on where to look next.  Dark here now so probably can't check it out until tomorrow.  Any suggestions are appreciated!  Troubleshooting electric is not a strong suit.

I would start looking to see if one of the door push button switches have fell apart inside causing it to short out.

I just lately had the same problem that Mike mentions. One of those push switches fell apart inside and shorted power out. I am instead going to use a micro switch similar to what they used on centre bay door to turn off heater right above door.
That switch has been replaced twice so have given up on  that method of turning lights kn in bay

Any suggestions on how to isolate the offending push switch or just start at one and go from there?

As mentioned startwith one and go thru all. Open a bay door and if light goes on press that switch a few times to see if it works without shorting out. Go to next one etc and do same. When you see sparks and the fuse trips then that is the bad one.
