I don't  think Silverleaf will work with IPad. I think you need a device that is Windows based.
I think I read that Blue Fire will work a IPad.

Actually, you can use an iPad but you need to run a Windows laptop, router and emulator. That's the way I did it when we had our 300. No wires on the dash. It worked great. The only problem I had was rapid iPad battery drain as the VMS program is very demanding. For long drives I would use a charger on the iPad.

BlueFire makes a couple of Bluetooth adapters for Apple, Android and Windows. See at Amazon but remember to use the Foreforum link: Amazon.com: BlueFire 9-Pin J1939/J1708 Bluetooth Data Adapter for Heavy Duty...  Not for early iPads so check requirements. Same with Android.

I'm not about to invest in a Windows tablet or OS but Roger's display looks outstanding with both the numbers and the green indicator. MS fans should take a close look. It may be possible to design the BlueFire display to look more like the VMSpc but from what I have seen so far, Roger's display is both more useful and attractive.

Rick, your ISC 8.3 Cummins will work fine with VMSpc.

You can use almost anything as a display but the VMSpc software and the data acquisition device are windows based.  I have small Windows 10 PCs that are less than $200 and paired with a $30 wireless router and the right app on your device and any android tablet or iPad will make a fine display.  I have used 7, 8 and 10" android tablets and several different iPads.  The hard part for me is supporting devices that I don't have or didn't supply and supporting the technically more challenging PC to router to display device configuration for most users..

You can get a $150 RCA Cambio at Walmart and use that. I won't sell them, they have a 90 day warranty and not enough memory or storage space to keep up with Windows updates (you don't really need to). The kits I provide are Windows 10 based PCs that retail for about $200 - $400 that are much more robust, more memory, more storage and more warranty.  They come with the hardware you need, all of the cables, instructions, screens ready to use and support when you need it. My kits are pretty much plug and play.  Some installation is required, you have to plug in some cables, connect a charger and power cord and turn it on.

Let me know if I can answer questions.  Glad to help.

Thanks Roger for reaching out to me I don't know any think a about these systems and not very good on the Computer  but I'd like to install a system on my 1999 cummins so I can monitor the engine Like the engine boost since I had a bad intake cooler my temperature gauge is not reading right I like to keep track of my fuel mileage to see if the engine is working to it's best ,the mileage odometers fading out  would you have a system and monitor that would stay on the dashboard . Something that's not too high tech I am not an engineer !! What kind of system do you have that I could more or less plug it in and leave in there .

Cape,

What kind of computer do you have? You may not be an expert but I'm sure Roger can talk you through it if you do Windows. No sense in trying to learn a new operating system.

BlueFire would be your other option at about $190 for the Bluetooth adapter that wireless connects to your iPad. The software is free. There are templates to download so you don't have to design your own. You will need an adapter to the OBD II connector if you don't have the round 9 pin connector. Here is a page that will help identify which connector you have: Amazon.com: Universal 16 Pin OBD 2 OBDII Male Connector Obd2 16pin Adaptor...  The connector is under the dash in front of your left knee when in the driver's seat.

This is the correct Bluetooth adapter as there are two available. The less expensive one won't work on an iPad. Amazon.com: BlueFire 9-Pin J1939/J1708 Bluetooth Data Adapter for Heavy Duty...

BlueFire app and examples at the Apple Store: ‎BlueFire for Motorhomes on the App Store

Another option would be to pick up an Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 on Craigslist,  FB Marketplace or ebay. They are about the best tablet available only behind the Tab S3 and can be found for about $110 up. Made in two sizes like the iPad. See on ebay at: samsung tab s2 tablet | eBay

Rick, if you have a Windows PC then there is a DIY kit with the hardware you need and all of the software you need for you to install yourself.  It includes display screens and custom parameter files.

For most folks a dedicated PC for this task.

I have a 10.1" tablet PC that works nicely, no keyboard but if you have an iLad you are used to a popup keyboard on the tablet and it comes with a mouse.

The 10.1" ASUS Transformer is like a small laptop and you can detach the screen and use it like a tablet.  This comes with a mouse as well.  These are getting harder to get and my supply is dwindling.

And I have an 11.6" ASUS ViviBook Flip, a bigger screen with a keyboard that folds all the way to the back of the screen.  When folded back it becomes a tablet.  Also includes a mouse.  These are where I am going next.  You gan get them with much more storage and much faster processors if you want to use them as an everyday PC as well as for VMSpc.
