Diesel Years and Emissions

Can someone provide me with a general idea of which years, say from mid 1990's to mid 2000's, have which kind of engines as it relates to mechanical/EGR/DEF construction/requirements.

Probably asking this question crudely but hopefully you'll get the idea.

Thanks

Chuck...partially.  I'm particularly interested in which year's engines had EGR and which added required DEF.

"On Jan 1 2007 the updated EPA requirements made DPF (particulate filter) necessary and diesel fuel economy took a hit. Then on Jan 1, 2010, further updated EPA regs required the addition of a catalytic exhaust treatment and the use of DEF to feed it."

"An advanced exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), and diesel particulate filter (DPF) completed the emissions system on 2007 to 2012 (Cummins) model year trucks."

Do keep in mind that in small-volume builders like Foretravel, the engines can actually be a few years older than the model year coach.  FT did a "last time buy" of the pre-DEF "2007-2010" engines and I believe those were used into the 2012 and maybe even 2013 coaches.  That era ISX being a "known problem child", even without the challenges of DEF, for valve issues.

Foretravel wasn't the only manufacturer that stocked up on engines. For example, Winnebago is still building V10 class c's while smaller builders have switched to 7.3.

That would be an entire chassis, too, not just an engine.
