Lighting System Conversion for 2007 Nimbus 336

Our lighting buttons have been giving us some issues for the last couple years. Most recently we no longer have access to turning on the water pump in the hallway only the bathroom works. What we're looking for is an updated lighting system that can replace our current hopefully even be a smart system. Has anyone looked at this we realize it will be expensive to do this conversion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You likely have a newer version of the Intellitec multiplex lighting that we have in our 2004. I found that some of the panels or individual buttons lose their programming over time. I was able to download the software, figure out how to wire a USB to TTL adapter and re-program them. If you post pictures of the main Intellitec controller I may be able to see if I can help.

There are newer, still manufactured systems that are installed in high end coaches. Some appear to be wireless panels. Here is an example: Firefly Integrations

Here is a wired system:
Programmable Switch Panel System - Multiplex System - Off Road Engineering LLC
This says it's a 4 wire system. My Intellitec system is only 3 wire. Yours may be different.

Hi Bruce,

We think it's more mechanical than programing - have you ever tried to remove the covers and tighten the little plastic cover to the lights?  We have the Intellitec 00-00837-000 I can send a pic if you want via email.

Let me know what you think.

That 837 controller is the same as in our coach. You can try taking the plastic cover off a keypad and pushing the button on the circuit board directly but I'm still leaning toward the keypad programming. For comparison, we had some buttons not function at all. Some buttons controlled the wrong lights. No keypad was entirely nonfunctional. I think some sort of voltage transients causes this programming corruption. I think we had 3 keypads with some sort of problem that I was able to correct with reprogramming.

Are you only having a problem with a single keypad or multiple?

We, also had a lot of problems with our intellitec lighting system. With both lights not working and lights  not shutting off. To make a long story short we changed the electrolytic capacitor in each one of our fluorescent light fixtures. That resolved all of the intellitec problems. The electronic noise from these fixtures affected the communication of the switch panel to the controller. To test for this problem check the switches that do not turn on the fluorescent lights and see if it still exists. If all is working then test the same switches with all the fluorescent lights Turned on. If the problem returns you can now figure out which light is your problem. I hope this helps.

Thank you for all the assistance.  We were able to remove the panel and meter the connection not sure why but now it is working again and we reinstalled.

Bruce -Thank you!
