Desk project recommendations

Well be in the Nacogdoches area this week and I'm looking for someone to build out a desk/work are behind the passenger seat.

I know MOT and Foretravel do renovations, but are there any other folks in the area that would be worth getting a quote from?

Joe I don't know where you are from but you might try a local cabinet maker in your area.  The way our coaches are built it isn't hard to add custom work.  I do my own but I know others have has cabinet makers do jobs for them.  Also, a cabinet maker would possibly be less expensive than a RV shop.  Sorry, I can't help with information on Nac. shops

Short answer is probably not in NAC FT will likely be more $$ on cabinets and usually longer lead times Let us know how it goes

One of our U.K. members did a hidden big screen that rises up on command. Great job and perfect watching from the sofa across from it. When it's down, it's just normal with the window view, etc.

In a 34 ft coach space is limited. What you want to do in this space and how that drives the design is critical. Think it through carefully.

Hi Roger and Susan,

It's pretty much empty space between the kitchen counter and the small side table behind the passenger seat.  I think I want to keep the side table as is, so the passenger seat still swivels, but add a desktop perhaps 24" deep and roughly 36" wide, maybe some drawers or storage under the desk to the left.  Could do slide out keyboard tray.  Bonus would be to figure a way for a computer monitor that raises up and down (similar to what some folks do with a TV) but that's not essential.  I was thinking a comfortable non-rolling swivel office chair in front of it.  But, as always, there those with a better eye than me, so that's why I'm looking for someone with expertise and experience.

After 2 years at the kitchen table of the 26' Class C, I already feel like we've arrived in heaven with the extra space, but yes need to think this through.  We don't have to rush, but given we are here, figured no harm getting some ideas for a project.

I'm so in awe of this group and the great feedback.  Thank you all!

Joe this is probably not up your alley but you can look at a previous post that I made which I think was entitled how to remove countertops or something like that in which I took a small Sledge to all of the Corian countertops in the coach and rebuilt them using Stone Cold countertop technology of epoxy over MDF. while it came out really good there were some issues that I'm having now around the sink but that's a different thread what I did was I Incorporated a desk into the dining room table and I built a cabinet that housed a 55 inch TV on a electric lift behind the passenger seat in front of a window. it turned out really really good in my opinion and everybody that's looked at it has remarked how good it looks. Not for everybody though my corian was yellowed and personally not my favorite so I got rid of it. I not only did the kitchen counters and the dining room area and the what I call the coffee bar behind the dining area but also the bathroom. If you look at the thread that I started you'll see multiple pictures of how I did it.
As far as finding somebody to build you one I would think as somebody already has said that a furniture maker could do a really good job of it. I'm sure motorhomes of Texas or Foretravel would do a great job as well just at a higher price. And just remember that it will be really hard to match your wood whether you have Walnut or pine due to the age.

 Motorhomes of Texas has the ability to build custom cabinets. We build most of our small cabinets and often use a local sublet for bigger projects. Either way we can meet the needs of any cabinet remodel.
