Cabinet strut availability (split from Re: FOT is now back open)

Stopped in today at FOT for lug nut covers and cabinet door struts.  They had no struts.  MOT had over 300.  Got some there, 10% off for Motorcade Club members too.

Michelle, no psi indication.  I got out our digital scale and put a wooden block on it and pushed on it with the strut. 21.9 pounds.  I have their catalog but it is too big to attach so here is a link.

Was just a concern because I know on the large struts, there's usually a stuck-on label indicating piston strength in PSI, and the struts themselves often have identical silkscreen markings despite being different PSI.

A few years ago, a now-gone source was selling cabinet struts that were a little too "powerful", and those struts were causing damage (pulling hinges out of the cabinet frames or worse).

ETA - FOT and MOT would both be reliable sources for the struts; I would simply be hesitant to use that P/N and order from a different source.

I have removed almost all of the brackets, put a bit of wood glue on the screws and reattached them.  Screws will still be removable but won't generally loosen from use.  If the struts are too long or too powerful they may not work the way you want them too.  I hve seen other brands but they usually are too long or the stroke length is wrong.

FT says they are waiting on a shipment, Suspa says they are back ordered. The C in the part number might mean a custom order.

At about $10 each from FOT or MOT They are hard to find cheaper.  Buy a bag full.

I replaced most of mine shortly after we got the coach.  My maintenance log says I replaced 32 of them on 5 Jun 13.  I suspect they were original, so another couple of years and it will be time to do it again.
