1994 Grand Villa Unihome 8.3 radiator replacement

A little streak of bad luck.  Went to make a right turn and could not swing out far enough.  Right rear wheel went into the ditch and the back of the coach hit the ground!

The radiator housing got bent enough to rupture the radiator and coolant was pouring our rather fast.  Shut down the engine and called a tow service.  Repair shop says the radiator will have to be replaced.  Does anyone know a source for this radiator and the correct part number for direct replacement?

Obviously this incident caused the drivers side windshield to come loose from the weather strip at the right top.  I'm not too concerned about getting that back in place with some lube and careful manipulation of the weather strip.

The source is Atlas Radiator and Larry Frederick is the point of contact.

The number on my original radiator tag was B-2148. I checked with Brad at Foretravel Parts. My number was replaced with B-2358. The same radiator was used for years on all models.

Unit pricing...
Complete Rad/CAC Assy (as drawn) ... $3840
Radiator ONLY ...............$2488ea
Lead time is around 6 weeks.

Several forum members (the real hardy ones) have done the switch themselves. I had mine done in Nacogdoches at  Nacogdoches Motorhome Service. The charge was $1,610 (14 hours labor). I think any shop could do the job but this will give you a ballpark for what it should cost. Good luck.

Attached is the B-2358MC Rad/CAC drawing from Atlas.

One other thing. When they have it out, I suggest you have your CAC pressure tested. Mine looked perfect but they found maybe 10 tiny pinholes in it. I just pasted them with JB Weld and called it a day.

The radiator should have a metal tag somewhere with a part number, that will help.

I called Atlas for my U320 and all they needed was my FT build #.  I was very happy with their service.  Sorry about your trouble, but it might be a blessing if it was covered by insurance.

Just want to reiterate that according to Foretravel and Atlas they all use the same radiator.
