Review of LingLong F816E+ Regional All Position 295/75R22.5

We just returned from June Lake, CA where we had a chance to compare our new F816E+ to the old Coopers. The LingLongs are advertised as Regional/Highway tires , load range H and speed rated M (81 mph). The tread design is V shaped with a rounded bottom. This keeps rocks from sticking in the groove and damaging the casing. The sidewalls are also thicker (not much of a radial bulge) for better resistance to curbs, rocks or other things that might be encountered in a campground or gravel/dirt road.

The tire dealer said most buses like to run 105 psi unless they have a heavy load. Since our U300 has a 10,500 lb front axle, this H rated tire at 105 psi seemed fine on our trip with the option of raising it to 120 psi (cold) in really hot weather over the marginal highways found everywhere. Like all tires, the maximum load is only available at the maximum pressure, in this case 6610 lbs at 120 psi for each tire.

Compared to the Coopers at 110 psi, the ride was more comfortable, tracked better and had better turn in while being very quiet at the same time. Balance was excellent without any type of balancing device. Overall, just a more relaxing tire to drive. As I said, I had no real complaints about the Coopers. I just like riding on these better.

While available at many sellers including Waltmart, our independent's price of $300 cash each, mounted, out the door was quite a bit less than most retailers and half the price of the Coopers.

In researching new 295/75R22.5 tires, I made a stop at the NHTSA's website where you can enter the make and model tire and see if there are any recalls, complaints, manufacture communication, etc. Here is the result for LingLong tires in general: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA

So, the specs are:
 F816E+, Load range H (same price as G), M speed rated 81 mph, Smart Way verified (low rolling resistance) Regional 16 ply. Tire Details | Linglong Americas, Inc.

Most RV manufacturers recommend regional tires as they take more abuse and don't carry rocks. I have not seen any rocks after several gravel roads on our trip.

Bought 112 gallons of diesel in Carson City, NV at $3.18.9/gal. about $1/gal. cheaper than CA. I've got to get off the stick and sign up for the posted discount card.
