Dometic 1492 Not Working on Propane

I have a Dometic 1492 fridge in a 2002 U295, and it hasn't worked on propane since I bought it a year ago. 

Initially, it would spark and light, but then go out in 10 to 15 seconds.  It wasn't a high priority, but we are doing more Boondocking so now it is. 

It took me a while to figure out that it might be that the flame sensor is not grounding properly, or just needs to be replaced.  The only problem is now it won't spark at all. It was sparking fine for a year whenever I shut off my AC power and then I would turn off the fridge.  Now it's not sparking or releasing gas at all.

The fridge works perfectly fine on AC otherwise.  Just not 12 V/propane.

Start by doing a "burner area tune-up"

No parts needed.

Remove the burner tube and clean. If badly corroded or eroded, replace it.

Clean the ignitor and set gap.

Clean the propane jet.

Only after doing this do you need to start looking for issues.

I did everything you mentioned. Everything looks good nice and clean.

I think it's worth reiterating that neither the gas is initiating nor the igniter. The gas was turning on before a couple of weeks ago and they igniter was lighting the gas. It was just going out after eight or 10 seconds. I assumed it was probably the flame sensor.  So now the new problem that I'd like to resolve is why isn't the gas and igniter initiating. I double checked again and have 12 V.

If you posted this on the Foretravel Owners Group, I posted how to check it out. The flame sensor/ignitor probe could have a crack in the porcelain portion allowing the spark directly to ground. You can remove the screw holding the flame sensor in place and pull it out, then by holding it by the wire turn on gas mode and have the tip of the probe about 1/4 inch from a ground and see if you have a spark. If no spark, then probably the ignitor box has gone bad. Make sure it is getting 12 volts to the 12 volt plug and if it is and no spark, it is probably bad. I think it has a part number on it.
