Pins retract when hydraulic pump starts not during seal deflating.  Yellow light comes on in a 2001 after 40 seconds whether the seal is deflated or not.

Fred,  there is box on the driver's side big bay ceiling that shows the status of  the pins.  There is another bigger  aluminum box with a flat top.  Sort of looks like a cake pan.  Take the cover off (careful with the small screws). In the corner towards the rear and inside there is a toggle switch to override the transmission lockout.  Switch it to the other way.

You might want to check hydraulic fluid level too. Low levels can cause odd behaviors.  The manual does not say how to do this.

Ok that happened to me and the pins hold not retract. The board in the box may have hit the cover and shorted the fuse. You need to put rubber not he top of the cover  Also look in the wiring loom and you will find a 40 amp fuse. That fuse is what allows the pins to retract. It can be replaced and your slide pins might work after that but why it blew is the question.  I had to go to HWH twice at 5 dollar fuel to figure this out. You r boards are loose and meed to be tightened maybe.  It is a place to check at least as that fues controls the pin retract.  The motor runs but the pins stay still and  nothing happens right?
