Cat 3208 with Allison 643 temps?

I tow a small 2 car trailer in FL. .95*  degrees ,  Stop and go traffic puts my trans temps up to about 230 as it pulls through  1 and 2 nd, Dropping to 190 ish as it locks up  . Are these normal temps ?
The engine never gets over 180 and I drive it easy .
 Thanks as always .

Sounds normal with the torque converter unlocked.

About all you can do is slip it into neutral if stopped at a long light.  Rev the engine a little to get more air flow over the transmission cooler.

Sounds just like ours in city traffic. Our engine temp does go to 200 on grades in the summer and the tranny temp follows it.

I saw the same when I got my coach, I used an IR gun and found the actual temp to be in the 150's, installed a new sender and problem solved..
