Powertech model #PTS 10K SIRRFT part #s

Just got some parts in for service on the powertech 10K generator.
Debating whether to attempt the end bearing myself or have the tech do it since he will be adjusting the valves.

Frank,

You can change that end bearing yourself as it isn't rocket science.  If you get stumped you have those here that have done it and can talk you through.  With all this work have you given any thought to change out the vibration dampers/motor mounts while you are that close?

Not sure Craneman,
I got it from Powertech

Mike, I did not. Not sure how difficult it is to replace those do I have to lift the generator up

Can I use a large pry bar on each corner replacing one at a time?

Or, Do I need a forklift to lift up the entire generator

Once you take the 4 bolts loose, you can take a 2x4 and lift up the generator to remove the mounts.  You will have to lift the gen up to access and remove the bearing anyway!  I got the bearing on Amazon, per Scott!  Two bearings in a package were $22 bucks.

When I replace my bearing I didn't lift the generator, but my generator isn't
the enclosed type.

Hi everyone,
I'm contemplating changing the end bearing myself and would like to know if this is where it's located at towards the left side of the pictures.
Once I remove what looks like four bolts and one extra bracket bolt on top is it just the cap that comes off that's about 4 inches wide?
Does anyone have any pictures ?

Do not take those bolts off they hold everything together. When you access the very end cap you will see phillips head screws. Remove those and that gives you access to the end bearing. If you don't have an access hole to get to the end cap just cut one then plate it when done, much eaiser than pulling genset out and doesn't hurt a thing.

When a shop changed my end bearing they took the bolts out of the left front engine mount and both mounts on the right side and rotated the generator enough to change the bearing.

pulled out gen for the first time today.
i was able to remove 2 nuts, 2 washers, and 1 bolt from the exhaust connection. still trying to remove the other bolt with some PB Blaster.
anyway, i pulled out the gen as far as it would go, to the stop, and was surprised that it did not come out all the way.
my gen is enclosed in the quiet box and i can remove the side panel apparently since i see some bolts.
still pondering the end bearing removal myself.
what does the puller look like so i can find one

I used a three jaw puller or a two jaw puller to remove the bearing. Not anything special and may be able to rent from your local auto parts store.
