Screeching Slide Movement

While moving the big front slide it made horrible screecing scraping noise. Maybe like metal on metal.
I got it extended out and the seal inflated.  I can not see any evidence of scrapes or abrasions on the exposed ends or bottom of the slide room.
The coach was slightly out of level during this movement.
Not sure how to proceed. I think I will have to bring it in to be able to see anything and then it will only befrom th e end behind the drivr's seat. Wife & I both think the noise was coming from the front end of the slide room. I hate moving it with that noise, but ...
If anyone can help or suggest something to try, I'd sure appreciate it.

Dick, before you bring the slide in, spray the perimeter with water so it will move easer. Might help.

I've heard a load screeching noise before when my slide bladder was only partially deflated.  Might check that and maybe slightly out of level is enough to cause a problem.

Dick,

You may need to remove some of the trim that encases the slide cylinders and see if you have a bolt or pin that has come loose and is dragging.  If you think the noise is from the front start with this cylinder. If you have a bolt loose and it gets hung up during extension/retraction it could cause major problems like a bent bracket, arm, or cylinder.

Not sure how your slides work but need to check and see of bracket arm and cylinders are not bent.  Also when it went out did both sides go out together?

If coach was twisted being out of level might be the cause of the scraping.

Just a quick embarrassing note to conclude this. Thank you all for you input.
The screeching sound was from the 1/2" piston from the slide balancing hydraulic cylinder slicing through the new Magnum Inverter I installed about a year and a half ago. When I hung the inverter there was no protruding part from that cylinder. I had no idea about it.
If I had mounted the inverter 1" lower there would have been no problem.
It turns out I was lucky, the damage was cosmetic only. Affecting only the sheet metal on the top. Have since lowered it enough to clear.
