FYI for those with Demco Air Force One tow brakes and newer toads

We have a 2021 Grand Cherokee with a Demco Air Force one tow brake (self installed on the Jeep).

The Jeep was throwing codes with dash error messages for start stop inoperative and traction control (ESC) inoperative.

I thought it was a Jeep issue, not a tow brake issue.  However after internet research and trying various things, it was a tow brake system one way check valve stuck open, the one next to the under hood AF1 control box.

It cleared when I pulled it out and blew air threw it. Etrailer sells spares for around $17, no doubt auto parts stores can match it cheaper.  I also pulled the breakaway switch for a couple of seconds to help clear the system.

For those who get the same error codes with no air driven tow brakes, likely suspect would be Vacuum pump, vac sensor, vacuum leak, or aux battery failing.
