GENERATOR STOPPED PRODUCING

Our generator has suddenly stopped producing AC to the coach.  I thought it might have been a failure of the Southwire Surge protector, but once I connected my portable generator to the Shore Power all functioned fine.
I checked the voltage coming to the surge protector and found no voltage on either line 1 or 2 and 30volts for these lines to ground.
I was hoping it was a voltage regulator, but haven't had the time to have it inspected.
Any thoughts....?

Try turning OFF and back ON the on-generator breakers.

Can you explain this statement?  Are you sayin that you have a sure protector on the generator output?

Along with what Brett said make sure that the field breaker isn't popped out as it can be hard to tell.

I massaged all the breakers I could find, both inside the coach and on the generator it's self.  Have an appointment with local generator shop after Thanksgiving.  I will report the findings once the unit has been inspected.  I'm hoping it's a regulator..

Yes, there is a surge protector between the generator and transfer switch.  I was worried it might have been a failure of the surge protector model # 35550, Surge Guard idiot lights indicated faults on line 1 & 2, no power or surge and a flashing caution light.  But when I connected my portable generator to the shore power all functioned properly.

Does your generator have a remote radiator?  Some 295s that age do and some don't, If so is the fan running?

I have found the best way to diagnose anything electrical is to take as many components out of the circuit and then start adding one item at a time.
Guess this is called a "process of elimination" and it works for  slightly above average idiots like me who doesn't like to work on electricity stuff.

A lot of times I found that it's just the breakers on the generator has tripped, not the internal ones. Try resetting not only the main breaker but also the fan breaker as well. And also if you do have a remote radiator squirrel cage fan. If that's not running then you're not producing electricity at the generator head. The first time that happened to me I opened up the box and found that many of the wires were just poorly connected and I had a loose connection. Try that first before you pay somebody to diagnose the problem that could be easily solved.
