Aquahot help

Anyone in the Brownsville/Los Fresnos, TX area that could help troubleshoot my father-in-law's Aquahot?  Symptoms are no heat in the bedroom and the diesel light is going off soon after he turns it on.  Electric is working.  It was just serviced at FOT about a month ago.  He's in a '99 U320 40'

Do you hear the burner's fan coming on? And combustion?

The lack of heat in the bedroom can be caused by one of the three square cube relays getting dislodged; easy to check visually. When you open the AH case, they're on the right hand side as you're looking at the burner

Thanks Elliot...I'm not on site with him in South Texas so I'm unable to trouble shoot.  He's 86 now and can't crawl in the bays like he used to!  I've got a couple of mobile service guys I found on the Aqua-Hot website I'm going to steer him to.  Thanks for responding.  Both of these serve the Rio Grande Valley.

Glen, when he hits the diesel switch, have him go outside and see if it is going through the cycles and getting ignition.  Sadly, it could be the controller, but let's hope it is something easy!  We are in the 20's here in middle TN right now!  Brrrrrr!

If the light is going out shortly after turning it on, it's an indication that the burner is not lighting off.  I would suspect the controller.  I had this problem in the past.  The CB cube controls the individual circulation pumps.  I would contact Rudy.  He has control boxes.

Definitely call Rudy, he probably knows much more than any service guy out there and can guide them in what to repair/replace.

I found it very helpful to read through the service manual before calling Rudy my first time. It helps get you familiar with what the different components look like. Otherwise he's playing three-dimensional chess while you're still trying to setup your pieces for a game of checkers.

My family's business was heating oil and oil fired heating equipment sales and service in New England.

The Aqua Hot system is a miniature of the house hydronic systems. So where I would begin is with the spark electrode for ignition, then the nozzle.

An interesting side note (for me);  there is a small green light left of the light switch panel in the bedroom.  I have often wondered what it was, but never really pursued it.  It would usually flicker sometimes, and then not.  While in bed I noticed it last night, and discovered that it would flicker when the AH burner was running, and go off when the burner quit.  Go figure...
