Coolant sensor

Anyone know which coolant senor is for the dash gage. Mine reads about 220 degrees
and if it wasn't for the Silverleaf I would be worried. M11 engine.

Peter,

On our '97 the dash gage is on the sensor that is hid under the alternator in a little hiding spot. The one for the ECM is on the water jacket behind the turbocharger. Not sure about a '99 as compared to ours but seems like they should be the same.

Thanks Mike. I have 3 sensors so the one behind the alternator is surface mounted would
be easy to change. I wonder what the one in the front of the engine is for.

There is a place for a Tstat that controls the shutters on the radiator in a truck that has them.  That spot on our engine is plugged. If yours has a sensor in there they could be using that for possible ECM upgrade that ours don't have being older. Just a WAG so no cost .
