Locked my keys in my Nimbus

Well I guess you could say Im special. I have the 2 sets of keys and the entry code system for the locks. Well everything is in the motorhome. I have no idea how the door locked but its locked. We were leaving today for a quick 3 day vacation. Does anyone know the master code to get into the motorhome? I literally told my wife a couple of days ago that I was going to hide the third set of keys in the engine compartment for just this very reason. I have emailed the previous owner but I haven't heard from him yet. Also will be calling a locksmith to see if I can get him here today (good luck with that). Im so mad at myself right now. Any suggestions or constructive criticism is welcome. Or if you want to just kick me in the b's that will be ok also.

When I got locked out of my U320 I was able to enter through engine compartment and pushing the bed up and crawl in bedroom

On the older coaches it is supposedly pretty easy to push a sliding window open from the outside (I have never tried it). Will require a step ladder or something to stand on to get up to window level. You just kinda push in on the window and push sideways at the same time until the window lock releases, or use a thin tool to release the lock. The bedroom "fire escape" window or driver side window apparently work best.

I don't know if this will work on your newer model windows.

Got it! Had a locksmith come over. He was amazing. I now have a set of keys hidden in the engine bay. I also talked to one of the salesman at MOT and he said I was the 20th person this year that this has happed to. They call it the motorhome ghost lol. I honestly think when I threw my keys down I hit the lock button on the fob. It was either that or my coach is haunted. Thank you @turbojack and everyone else for the help. Hopefully this thread will help someone not make the same mistake which seems to be pretty common.

Being somewhat dense ( or is it because we are close--real close!! to our 80s) I have a spare set of keys in the lift-up dash in the coach, in the console in the car, and on the DW's key chain a spare entry key and a coach ignition key. Also compartment keys and one door entry key hanging just inside the door--up high.
Also, because our kitchen window is directly across from the mid-coach entry door I make sure the window is not latched when we are parked. The window is small in size and quite high off the ground so any attempt at climbing in takes preparation and destruction of the sliding window glass and the screen.
If we are locked out (and it did happen once before we got spare sets of keys) I was able, by using a step stool and a broom handle, to reach across the coach and unlock the door. Now I can snag the door entry key hanging inside. Doing this just requires knowing which key ring to snag and a nail at a right angle in the end of the broomstick.
Ain't limber enough to crawl up in the engine compartment and push up the bed.
Just need to borrow/"find" a broom handle and a nail.

Glad you got in. On my coach, the fuel tank/LPG tank bay does not lock, so I've added a combination hide-a-key in there. It's just posi-loc'd to the bulkhead...easy install. I figure a bad guy may not know this bay doesn't get locked.

But you got to remember the code. I have to save where I hid my keys, then I have to remember where I saved what I wrote down.

We've done the same thing in the fuel bay. Locked ourself out once. Won't happen again.

I was also concerned about forgetting the code so..... wrote a clue on the face of the lockbox. " Carlton " which would mean nothing to a crook but it's the 3 digit address of our first home and all of our kids will also know the clue.

Ha, I guess we were 1 of the 20. Picked up at MOT end of May, headed around the corner to fuel up at Wmart. left the door unlocked while fueling, wife went to get some groceries....our Corgi jumped into the driver seat and toggled the door lock button. Tried all the windows no luck, Gave thought to crawling in over the engine to the bed latch, but was having a bit of an issue with a pinched nerve and figured best not to torque the body like that... 1 hr and $80 later we were in. Got home and had some more keys made, now 1 key for each lockable thing hidden outside in a safe place.!!

Does some people harm to hide ANYTHING. I know a man who hid a pillow case full of money in his coach and it took him 1 month to find it.

Glad you got unlocked Eddy, most who have done this for a long time have had it happen. It must have been a considerable enough amount of money to require a special hiding place. Point being some people can hide their own Easter eggs. Welcome to the Forum.

Ummm ... this happened to us in our '02 U320. There were some loose bits, apparently, in the locking mechanism on the door and the lock would not retract all the way. (I once got locked IN the coach!). Gaining entry involved dragging a (VERY heavy) picnic table to the side of the coach, Jeff on his hands and knees, and me standing on his back and performing a less-than-graceful flopping maneuver into the bedroom after jimmying the window. The neighboring campers had collected their chairs and beverages and had an entertaining half hour while we figured things out. No worries about security. No burglar would spend the time to gain entry using this method.

So on my kids cars I've installed a push button switch outside the car. Better than a key holder and these new smart keys are stupid expensive. One push and the doors needed are unlocked.

Nope my dog has locked themself in several times in the old cars till they were trained to keep their feet down off the doors

After accidentally leaving a spare set of keys at an RV Park last year.
My dear wife went to the pet store and had some "dog tags" made with our cell numbers on each side for all of the key sets.
Sure enough, managed to drop them again and a good soul found them after we were 200 miles down the road, called the numbers and mailed the keys to us.
Kept a spare set of keys in a "realtors lock box" in the propane compartment.

I found the code in the paperwork but it's not working. It's as if there is no power to it unless I hold the star key and it flashes red but won't do it every time. I'll have to do some homework I guess. I would like to get it working.

That code you found may have been the default and it had been changed. The unit is a tri-mark. You can look it up on the internet as to how to program. There are a number of different versions and not sure which one you have or I have.

Your digging too deep lol. I tried the lock code as well and it didn't work. I'll dig around and see what I can come up with. Thank you for your help. Also the code was hand written on a note in the folder for whatever that's worth.

I found a hide a key on the pas side frame rail. I also leave a key on a semi hidden hook in the propane box .

it looks like approximately 9600 bills would fit in a cubic foot, so sounds close to me
