Solar Panels,

My original solar panels for my Coach came off my boat when I upgraded my boat panels,
They were 2 X 85 Watts and 2 x 50 Watts, Not much, But they got me from Fiji to Australia with out running out of power,

My Boats panels were 350 Watts by 2, = 700 Watts,  I also had 770 Amphrs of lead acid Batterys,
Which all ran perfectly, After the new install,

I did have 600 Amphrs of AGMs, But had no end of trouble with them, Going flat,
I think it may have been the alternator on the diesel being an older type that wouldnt charge the batterys properly, even tho it did charge the batterys when running, ??????????
I was in 6 metre waves and 70 knot winds when a Huge wave came over the whole boat and took out the solar panels, Battery bank, VHF, and almost put me over the side as well,
All were Replaced in Eden, to the new setup,

Solar Panels are cheap here in Victoria, Australia as every one is putting them on their houses with Govt support,

My new Panels for my Coach is now 2 x 350 Watts and a 40 amp controller,
new Technology, 23 % efficient, German panels made in china,
$130-00 AUD each for the panels, $57-00 AUD each for the controller, and free delivery,
The new Panels are much smaller than the panels I had on the roof,  1230 x 730 each panel x 2,
It gives me much more room to walk around up there, Hahahaha
The two smaller panels were beside the front AC unit and It was difficult getting past them,
Every thing is still 12 volt,
Need 3 new house batterys,    AGM or Lead Acid, Hmmmmmm, ?????????????
200 300 or 350 amphrs, Around $500-00 each,

I washed the roof with a Karcher today and can now connect the new panels up,
I had to drill four new holes in the existing roof brackets to take the new panels,
Shock, Horror, Damn it, I had to buy four new bolts and nylock nuts as I didnt have any in my shed,
4 x 60 x 8mm bolts and nylock nuts, $4-50,

On a side note,  I put my optima 900 CCA AGM on jumper leads to fire up the coach,
It hasnt been started in over 12 months,
Zip, Zilch, Nada, Nothing, Only got clicks, Its fully charged, 13.4 volts in the battery,
Dirty or bad connection,
So I connected it up direct to the leads after cleaning the terminals,
Hit the key to start it, It fired up instantly, And I do mean instantly,

My coach will not start if less than 12 volts in the battery,
It wont open the solenoid for the fuel pump, I learned this the hard way, Hahahaha

Cheers, Brian,

What brand are the panels?  350 watts from 1230 X 730 (~48.4" X 28.7") is a game changer for me if I can find that sort of panel in the States.

Thanks, but neither of these links seem to work.  Looks like it might be Flea-bay.com.  Is there an actual brand of solar panel?
