Might sell my coach for one with a cup holder

I saw this on Keith's Facebook post. I want it very badly.

I assume it's something they started adding after 01 - so I'm curious if anyone's retrofitted one or come up with a good alternative for those of us stuck with these lame no-cupholder coaches.

BTW, the silly slide out cupholder thing in the dash of an 01 would suck even if it did work.

Elliot, we purchased those for our coach and love them!  You can pick your color and they fit well.  No more issues with cups spilling over, etc.  Someone's son on here has a 3D printer and does a fantastic job!

DJ and Jane are the 3d creators and on the forum with that name!

So a cheap alternative for me was to cut some extenders from some 3" ABS pipe. We have three in the coach and use every trip. I cut them on the lathe because the outside dimension must be reduced a bit and have found that if they fit in tight the almost lock into place. But they are Black. Some white pipe would be nice I think, although we have become accustomed too them now. I also tapper the inside top to open them up more and clean up the appearance of being a waist pipe.

You have it made compared to a 1998 U320. The cup holder for the driver isn't even a cup holder. It's a 12oz soda can holder. And only 1.25" deep.

Elliot are you referring to the actual holder or the insert that more realistically holds a cup? The actual holder is factory from new the insert I bough5 here on the forum and it works great!!

I was food shopping at  a high end grocery store. Found a black plastic cup holder in the parking lot, the one that they attach to their food cart. I screwed it onto the wooden storage box that sits on the cover between the driver and passenger seat. Perfect spot for it. I enjoy drinking Sapporo Beer. It comes in a tall can. I cut the top off it using a P-38. Then I sanded the lip so it wouldn't cut my lip. Makes for a really comfortable drinking cup. Fits perfectly in the free black plastic cup holder. What can I say sometimes ya win one.
EMT living in Missouri. Recently purchased 1987 Gran Villa 36 Ft. long,460 Ford engine with 40,000 miles on it, new tranny has 3000 miles on it, coach has 75000 miles on it, new 5000 watt genny new fridge, new tires. Am both excited and scared out of my wits at the size of this beast. Love it but need time to become accustomed to it's size.  I'm sure it will take time to experience all the secrets this RV has to offer. Any and all advice gratefully accepted.

I always have a variety of cup holders on hand.

For a right handed driver, a cup holder on the left seems wrong.

This was from 7 or 8 yrs ago.

I just removed the drop in black mini cup thing, and a Built 20oz thermo cup fits perfectly, tight and safe.  The white trim ring is perfect for those 20 oz. cups.

I have been using an old insert from a camera bag that has the dividers. As I'm right handed it works well sat on the floor to my right. Although it isn't very stylish. It works as my travel drink of choice is a big bottle of flavored fizzy water.

The cup holder Elliott is showing, the only problem I see with that one is it could spill
onto the electronics. When I bought my coach someone had made extenders for the
Foretravel cup holder and they were made from ABS couplers and machines to fit as
Scott said.

I have to admit in alĺ the years driving any vehicle a cup holder is an item I never ever used. So the concern shown in this many year's long post has me scratching my head.

When driving, we remove plastic cup holder trim rings, and insert a short piece of PVC, that has had its inside center rib removed, with bottom edge wrapped with several turns of tape to make the PVC fit tight into dash shallow cup folder. PVC cup holder is useful. Make the PVC as tall as you want.

I went into FT parts and bought one, $135. It doesn't fit a 2001. Returned it

I have a molded plastic aftermarket console for minivans. It works great. I can move it around if I want. No electronics are at risk.
