What Are Items at Top of Fresh Water Tank?

Need help identifying some items I discovered when I removed the paneling behind the power cable and fresh water hose reels.  See picture.  (1) I found a board ~ 2" x 1" x 5' lying or more appropriately jammed in-between the top of the fresh water tank and the coach frame.  It wasn't loose but wasn't too hard to pull out. Does the board serve a purpose? (2) I presume 12VDC wiring coming from the top of the fresh water tank has something to do with shutting off the fill valve when the tank is full?  Have owned the coach since 2016 and when I need to fill the fresh water tank to capacity I leave the water on until it just quits flowing through the hose.  When filling the water pressure gauge drops ~ 10 psi and when full the psi returns to 55 psi pressure I have my water pressure regulator set at.  (3) The hose looks like the gravity fill hose I had on my previous 5th wheel trailer, but I don't have a gravity fill port that I know of on my coach.  Not sure where this hose terminates or what it's purpose is.  I have never had water dripping from underneath the coach when filling the fresh water tank to capacity.

The green and white hose is the overflow/vent hose and the wires coming out of the
tank I don't have in my coach and I would guess it is what you said, a fill stop swich.
You won't have any water come out of your overflow/vent hose and you can't overfill
your tank.

That electrical junction box is missing its lid-- replace it!

David, you are correct on the second and third questions. I would  put a cover back on that Jbox which connects your elect reel to the automatic transfer switch. If your water tank is full, when you go around corners water will go out of your tank and spill onto your bulkhead frame.

Brett, I looked at the picture before reading the text.  First thing that caught my eye was the missing 1900 box blank cover. Second was the board that a previous owner had put in there as a place to store it.  Not real sure why he had it in there since I do not think that is an easy place to get to.

When I took the picture I was in the beginning process of replacing my power cable reel and I had removed the junction box cover.  The cover was in place just before I took the picture.  I thought maybe the board was shoved in there to help stabilize the water tank.  Not sure how the water tank is anchored down.

Our coach doesn't have the fill shut off but the tank did have the second unused tank fitting which I installed a direct tank fill with a shut off valve. I can go from 20% to 100% full in less than 5 minutes filling through that connection. You could probably keep the sensor as is and install the overflow and direct tank fill with a Tee coming out of the overflow port if desired.

1. I know you might think I have been looking at the ceiling too long but I have seen a couple of coaches with similar wood in there. After some snooping was told it was to keep the Aqua Hot piping  and electrical cabling off the top center of the water tank causing the tank top to sag. They were run diagonally across the tank as to catch the sides of the tank for support.
2. weight of the water.
