Water Pump Will not turn off


I got home from a trip today. While I was out the water pump turned off and on fine. After driving home I noticed it was on and went to turn it off and it would not turn off. Ended up disconnecting the red wire so the water pump would not run, but light stayed on. Last outing my gas water heater stopped working. Ant insight would be greatly appreciated!

Brian,

I would figure that water pump running issue is a failed water pump relay. Yours should be located behind the removable fiberglass panel in the basement on the drivers side of the coach. Most likely the old style cube relay.  Several have changed it out to a Finder Typ 20.21  16amp 12vdc like the newer coaches have.

The latching relay is probably worn out. I had to get a new one when mine wouldn't
shut off. My relay is behind the white cover in the storage bay. if you get at it there
is something if you push it it will turn on.

Brian,

Could you expand on this?
Is it doing anything at all like:
Is it sparking?
Is the gas valve opening?
Is there voltage at the heater?
It could be just a bad ground or more involved like an ignitor or control board.

 Relay is a Volks headlight relay. Any auto parts store carries them. I carry a spare:

NEW HEADLIGHT RELAY 111-941-583EC FOR VW BEETLE, KAMANN GHIA, THING,...

Down on drivers side, behind white fiberglass cover against wall.

Is the water fill on?  On some coaches pump will run constantly when water fill is on.

I also made this mistake. The pump was running constantly and discovered the water fill was on. Turned the water fill off and the pump worked normally.

Thank you guys! Got the switch and still having issues. Wondering if I messed up location on the connections. Does this look correct?

Red wires are your power, green is from the switch and white goes out to the pump, correct?  The switch passes a ground signal, correct?  If so, looks right.

on mine that relay is out of production but I found an identical replacement on Amazon called an LR35

if this link doesn't work search Amazon for Standard Motors LR35 relay, that should get you there.
Do remember to check your fill handle position too, under the sink in the bathroom, if it's not fully closed the pump will run as you described.
