Generator Door Stuck

Greetings-

I have read that people sometimes have trouble getting the front generator access door to open after pulling the handle.  My handle will not budge- It is frozen.

I know I can pull harder but I think it would only damage a latch etc.

Can someone give me a fix?

Thanks.

Hose everything with CorossionX and pull.  Once open, CorossionX the latches and cable thoroughly

I had to move the coach to let someone into the bay I was in.  Gave it a try-  Opened easier than ever.  I tried 20 times over two days prior to this happening.

Thank you Rudy.

The cable has a torn jacket with broken steel strands surrounding a nylon cable.

I am going to look into a replacement.

Thanks again Rudy!

Foretravel had the replacement for mine when it failed a couple of years ago.

I will try CorossionX  Ernie on my cable. I got mine broke free but I know if I leave if it will
freeze up again so I was planning on ordering a new one.

The reason that I was opening the generator door was I had to change the generator fuel pump.

After further inspection of the door situation I have determined that the cable is supposed to coil in a specific way to allow it to open smoothly the next time.  I had not paid any attention to this before.  I have opened it at least 10 times since and it is smooth as can be.  I just have to pay attention when closing the door rather than just slamming it closed.

I appreciate all the responses.  I will get around to replacing the cable soon.
