I think you got it Scott.  I don't see anything else besides the light switch, which is easy enough to remove for this.  It looks like I can just run the bolt in and that will allow me to bring the slide in about 2" further than now.  If I needed more, removing the bolt altogether would get me about 2 1/2" or so.
So the bolt is the stop and must return to its original position or slide may not be flush when retracted. You could double nut on the end then relax the inside nut to be able to return to the prior adjustment easily
