Battery connectors after Lithium battery upgrade.

If you're having charge issues some time after upgrading batteries, this might apply.  And then it might not.

I did the Battleborn upgrade 3 years ago and have been happy.  Except...a few weeks ago, off-grid in Q, I began to troubleshoot changes in the charging profiles, both solar and generator.  Could not get more than sustained 35amps in bulk charge on genny.  It would pull 100+ amps for a few seconds, then drop to 30-35 amps.  Discovered the ground cable from the shunt next to the batteries too hot to touch and the insulation melting.

Pulled the cable out from the coach and replaced the factory alloy cable end with copper.  Charging back to normal.

The OE cable end was designed to mate to a like end on the battery.  It was not making good contact with the solid brass shunt.  Here's what it looked like...lots of overheating.  Happy camping.  Woody.,
