Motorcade Club Decals

We joined the Motorcade club.  We're the second owners and the coach has the decals from the original owners. What is the best way to remove the old decals? We don't want to damage our coach, it still looks brand new and we want to keep it that w

A very slow process. I didn't want to risk damaging the gel coat with any chemicals, abrasives, or scrapers. Ended up manually removing them with my fingernail.  Would start at a corner, lift with my fingernail, and then very slowly peel off.  If I did it carefully enough, I was able to remove very large sections in one piece.
After all the stickers were off, I then used a good carnuba wax to remove any residue and polished to a nice shine.
When finished, (and it took a few hours), you couldn't even tell they were ever there.

If you take a hair dryer and heat the area up it make it easier for the decals to come off.  Make sure you have a good ladder.

When we went to the GrandVilla Reunion James Triana recognized our coach  as that belonging to ... and was confirming the motorcade numbers on our coach which belonged to him.
He was about to send him a bill.

I came outside to see what was going on and clarified the situation.

I think they should verify license plate numbers.

I have used this stuff called Vinyl-Off.  It's a milky white liquid; reminds me of Armor All.  Works good to make the job easier, but it's still work.
I spray on and let it soak in; a heat gun speeds it the soaking in process, repeat if necessary.  Then I use a plastic razor blade.

I guess if you don't like signs and numbers and plaster them all over the coach- like Wally Bynum Airstream, you can't attend rallies- from what I was told. Some of us don't like all that junk.

Lynda hates the badges on vehicles. I had to remove all the letters and names and repaint her '92 MKVII. Our '14 GC doesn't have any either. The coach only shows its identity when the main awning is out as I can't do much with the cloth. I thought of using removable Scotch tape if we went to a rally.

It's a bylaw in the motorcade club to have your number on your coach.

I think your club # should consist of the year you joined and the build number of your coach

When I was younger I never went to Motorcade events because  I was told I had to have the numbers on or I could not attend. I didn't want to put my numbers on the coach .
About 3 years ago I went to a Grandvention and I put a sign in the window with my numbers while I was there.

Go to your nearest automotive paint supply store and ask for a pin stripe removal wheel. Chuck it up in a cordless drill and use light pressure and it will take them off with no damage to gel coat or paint.
