Brake valve cap

As shown in the attached photo this valve is missing a cap. Is this critical or is it just a dust cap? If I need one is this a common item found?  Live in Canada so hoping it would be available if required

I just went to my history on find it parts and that is what I ordered? They fit but now you got me second guessing it? It was the ride height valve come to think of it. Please disregard. Two years ago

So I guess I will ask again if anyone knows this part and whether it requires a cap or not??

If it is a brake relay valve that is just the exhaust port. I have had one on my crane missing for years with no issue. If you can find the part number and post it I will see if they sell the cover here.

If there is no dedicated OEM cap available, you can just wrap a piece of window screen fabric over the end and secure with a nylon zip tie.  Keeps bugs and big trash out without restricting exhaust flow.

I looked in the catalogue and can not see anything similar.  The part does not have a number on it. I am going assume a cover does not have to be on it and still may fashion a round plexiglass cover to attach.

Do not seal it. It must vent to work. As suggested above some nylon screen material would keep daubers or road debris out. I believe mine originally had a flexible rubber washer that attached with a screw in the center of it. Do you have threads in the center or maybe the remnant of the screw?

Apply the brakes and release them, air should blast from this valve.  If I'm right it's a quick release valve.  And yes it needs a dust cover.
