Shower part removal question?

I am almost completed in my removal of ALL gold/brass, now the last piece to tackle is the spigot from the shower wall (pic included).... So the question is how to remove said piece? And has anyone replaced it with something similar (I'm looking for a matte black or oiled bronze replacement) .... as always thanks for the help and responses.

It's called a drop ell.  I replaced mine with another Moen piece of the same color as the rest of the stuff I replaced.  It's just a pipe fitting...unscrew.

If memory serves me, there is a panel in the bedroom in the back of the cabinet the mirror sits on and if you remove it, you can access the back of the faucet and drop L.  I am assuming this is what you were asking?
We changed everything to brush nickel.
