Does anyone know what these are called and where I can purchase them?
They attach Sunguard tire protectors to coach

Widely used on boats to secure dodgers, etc.

Those are called "common sense fasteners".  One very good source for all things related to canvas work is Sailrite.com 
I used them extensively when I worked in a sail making shop.  I have not compared prices recently but I know they sell quality products.
