upgrade camera system 2001 U295 36 foot

Good morning to all,
My wife and I are new to our coach and I have been working on getting it ready for the road. I talked to tech support concerning rear camera wire routing. They said they run the cable in a 2" square tube at the top on the drivers side. I found the tube and am having trouble with clearance inside the tube (obstructions) The wiring has a connector end that has aa diameter of .5625".
I hit the obstruction in the last 2 feet of the rear area of the slide. I was going to look at removing the two valances to be able to access the tube and possible remove the torx bolts that I believe could be the problem.
Any help would be a great help.
Thanks Bob (slow ride)

Bob,

Welcome to the ForeForum.

What are you trying to achieve?

Many of us have used the OE cable when installing new camera and/or monitor.  Just takes an adapter.

Following this as I would like to upgrade the camera system as well. Ideally, I would like to upgrade to a system that has the side marker cameras as well.

Total upgrade,I bought the Zeroxclub wired 4 camera sys. #BY904A 9" monitor. It sounded easy after talking to Chad at Foretravel tech support. Thought it would be best to run all new wires.

I was able to pull two cables down the passenger side from the rear of the coach. I used a vacuum cleaner to suck a cord and parachute threw first to pull cables threw after. Did this with coax end installed. Certainly slow going. Yes I also marked my pull cord lengths so I would know were I was at. No fun though

I used the passenger side wire chase mostly because that's the side that Foretravel chose to run the "extra" wires from the lower dash ( buy steering colum) to the overhead area.

Just ran a fish tape down the channel and out thru one of the quarter size vent plugs in the channel.      I chose to use a new cable (4 wire) because I mounted my monitor overhead.

The overhead position that I chose allows us to monitor the cameras from the rear and side cameras while the curtain is closed.  So now we can monitor what's happening on either side of the coach and the back without moving any curtains.
If Necessary. And it hasn't been.

Ps. The dash cam is moving to the jeep as soon as I find a suitable 4wire camera for the front.

How about that rear view mirror. Now I can see what the DW is up to.  Plus,,,, because we have a rear window I can Actually see a car behind me that the side mirrors don't.

I have a different brand but the screen size is the same.    I do like the size but the instructions to set up were very vague. Had to email them twice.

And as far as the cameras,  they sent me ( bonus) an extra side view camera like these to aim to the front but I sent it back because it was blurry unlike the the original package sideview cams.    Just sayin.

Bob,
Looks like you and I have the same coach. I have ran cabling through the tube the passenger side. It just takes patience and a fairly stiff fish tape.
What I did for the camera was use a wireless set up.

Amazon.com: RV Backup Camera Wireless HD 1080P Trailer Bluetooth Rear View...

Really cheap and easy.  I removed the access panel behind the old camera and tapped into the running light wire for power. Then at the dash, I tapped into a light on, hot wire for the monitor.

As I always drive with my lights on anyway, it worked out great.  Flip on the headlights and the camera goes on. 3 years now, and camera has worked great, clear picture, no issues.

Thanks to all for the input,
Mark I will try again tomorrow as I just finished putting everything back on the drivers side, it might have worked if it was a non-slide unit. All the extra bolts for the slide, which I couldn't see were in the way.
Thanks Bob

I pulled the wire through the basement center run on our 2002 and up through a clump of wires under the dash in the driver side floor.
