I removed the compactor and discovered it was a horrible job. I thought it would be straight forward but found the attaching bolts must have been installed while the coach was under construction. The bolts were brought in from the bottom with the basement floor built over them. Hours of grinding, sawing, chiseling. and prying with a crow bar and eventually cutting up the compactor was needed to get it out.
I was planning on replacing the compactor but found its an obsolete size. A new compactor in that size was WAY over priced.
I ended up building a pull out that houses a garbage can.

No compactor in our coach, but we had the ice maker removed and some drawers installed (FOT remodel shop).

Good thing that I just read all of this. Compactor held in with 6 screws through adjoining cabinets.
Long screws.  The fit is snug vertically and I wiggled it and spayed wood wax around it.
Removed the left side drawer's and inserted a tiny scissor jack with a 2x4 between the wall hard point and back of box. Jacked, pryed, wiggled it out .
Pretty heavy and disgusting inside.
On to some sort of drink storage  . I use 3-6 bottles of Boost daily and need some reserve  .

Our GV didn't have a compactor when we bought it, just an opening in the cabinets.
Picked up a used one from Hans (forum member), installed it and LOVED it.
Wet stinky times went out daily as needed when going for a walk.

The U320 has an ice maker that rivals any countertop model I've seen so for now it stays.

If no small children around you could bypass it with a switch.
Or just make a key, not anymore complicated than an old skeleton key.

Splits off the filter under the sink... at least that's what ours does.

Wanted to add that our ice maker water line had been removed at the shutoff under the sink, had to run new.
