ADC Everpure Water Filter

Has anyone had problems with the ADC under sink water filter system?  Last year, because of difficulty in installing the filter, I upgraded to the newer type head.  When I installed the filter i had trouble getting it to stop leaking.  Had to reinstall filter several times.  Tried to install new ADC filter cartridge today and same problem, only cant get this one to stop leaking.  Will not leak until change of pressure then a leak will begin.  I have added additional silicone grease to the o-rings and thought that fixed but soon started leaking.  Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  I am inclined to replace with another system.  Thanks for any help.

Hi Bill,
We use that filter and have not had any issues.
I believe it's a quarter turn to remove / install.
Did the old filter come out with both o rings and intact.

We can stop the common leak problem by wrapping the o ring with plumber's thin white teflon tape.

Lt403, Yes, both o-rings did come out.  In my previous coach, I had no issues either.  This coach had the head that had the lockdown ring which gave me fits.  So I upgraded to new head but now have leaks.
Barry & Cindy, thanks for the tip.  I will give that a try and post results.
Thanks to both of you!

Update: I tried new/more silicone grease as well as the teflon tape.  I switched the o-rings from old cartridge and installed on new.  Still leaks.  I have ordered a unit from Amazon made by Waterdrop.  I did talk to Pentair about the trouble I was having and they said I might have a defective head.  So when I replace will try and get them to check it for defects.

Bill, another 'thing' we do with Everpure drip problem is to hang a cut-off plastic bottle that is larger than the filter, to capture very small seep / drips, which seem to stop after a while.

We use water leak detector alarms in many places around coach, under sink, toilet, water pump, bottom of step, etc. We put one of our leak detectors in the bottom of the bottle, under filter to let us know if seep accumulates.

Somehow this works for us. BTW, the Teflon tape wrapping is around the larger O-ring, and folded over top a little so tape does not slip down when inserting new filter.

Yes they leak even with the new head: very annoying: the O-rings need to be removed and coated with plumbers silicone, it's a clear grease then reinstalled and the leak is fixed. Do not use Vaseline.
We keep a bowl under it with a piece of paper towel in it that we can check: so annoying

Back about 8 months ago, I posted on here with the complete change I made with that pain in the butt filter and cartridge!  Went all new.  Will look for the  article I posted.

Remember the days of struggling with that factory filter and the cost of replacements?  I decided to remove that beast and install this one from Amazon.  Extra filters are less than half of what the original ones were charging and so much easier to R&R.  The filter lines up with the original hole, so no issues there either.  It does take 3/8 hose, but then I reduced to 1/4 for ice maker and secondary faucet.  I use to dread changing that filter, as there is no room under sink and trying to turn that ring and either install or remove that filter was a chore.  Posted is the link for the new system!  Hope this helps others out there!

I solved my problem by installing a Waterdrop 10UA under sink filter from Amazon.  It is very similar to the Everpure.  Easy to install and no leaks.  Filters cost about half what the Everpure cost.  Happy so far!  Thanks for all the suggestions.

Would love to change mine out like yours. You are right, lately I have just left the bypass plug in because the filter is such a pain to change. I can not find you past post on how you changed it out can you the post it?

I actually have the original Overture filter. It's a beast to change.
