Dometic thermostat

How do you get the cover off of the Dometic thermostat to clean it?
I don't want to force it and break it.

Thanks

Instructions I received:

It is held on a similar colored wall plate by mild catches in the middle, top, and bottom of the outer case. You can slide a single tine of a fork (from right to left) behind the power switch to engage the 1/2" wide part of the case that is closer to the wall at the center of the bottom of the case. This portion of the case needs to be expanded downward perhaps only 1/8". The thermostate will pop free of the bottom catch and you can simply lift it from the top catch.

The electrical connection is a simple telephone type. Squeeze the clear clip on the plug to slide it out of the black jack. Be careful you do not let the cable fall into the home in the wall.

I got it off. I used some wire connector cleaner and it is operating fine now.
