Tire Pressure Monitoring

Does anyone use the BLU TPMS?

I'm never able to keep a good blue tooth connection with that one. I prefer the TST also

No doubt technology has its benefits. Past life rolling 18 tires on the ground I had my share of tire failures most had their known issues. Can't think of any time a tire monitoring system would have alerted me.

My Tire Minder let me know that the right front tire had excessive temperature. Pulled over and found the caliper was stuck. Was able to release it and keep on traveling.

So technology gave you heads up great! Stopping after 20 miles or when convenient and doing a walk around and knowing what to look for would tell you the same.
No matter what technology you have a walk around is must in first hour of travel.

That temp sensor is what determined what caused the tire to overheat and I use it at every rest stop.

I have a tire minder that has given me a lot of false alarms and the way I check the tires is to put
my hand on each one and from that I will know if anyone of the tires are overheated. I use the same
method when ever I stop and it tells me if the tires are OK or not. I think I have my tire minder
sorted out. The signal booster wasn't working and who ever installed it used marrette wire connectors
which cut the signal booster wires. I solder it and used shrink rap to keep it from braking again.

I've seen a lot of recommendations for the TST units.

We've run a Pressure Pro since 2011. It's okay but it doesn't give temperature and we've had a couple of sensors fail with whacky readings. That said, it did alert us to a couple of issues on the toads that saved us a tire on each.

Next coach we'll be due for new sensors and given the price, I'm considering a new TST unit instead.

Our TST sensors saved me 2 tires I'm guessing. Had brake work done and they didn't get the extension tight for the inside dual. Turned on the TST right away upon picking up the coach. Alarm started going off saying NO air.
I'm thinking it wouldn't have been good to run on one tire or good to run on a deflated one either.

We have internal sensors on our cars. Has anyone used them on their coach? We will need new tires soon and are thinking this would be a good time to install them.

I've been running the TireMinder A1As for about 2 years now. I really like that you can see all tire pressures (or temps with a push of 1 button) at the same time, no scrolling and waiting to see all the tires.

We also run Pressure Pro and find their Pulse model has temperature readout and has some nice features.

One feature to look for is tire pressure display showing WITHOUT having to move coach to wake up sensors. Can see PSI displays for all 10 sensors any time any day. And it will give out a low-pressure alarm even when parked for days, weeks, or months. Pressure Pro & their Pulse model have this desirable feature.

I don't think that would work as the auto ones work through their ECM's Would be interesting if a manufacture would make a stand alone one.

Not Kieth but I'll chime in cause TST needed a signal booster also ( supposedly). Although half the time I forget to turn it on anyway. The Jeep sensors still light up. If I had known that I might have been tempted to not bother with the booster but I did anyway.

As far as location, I put it next to the bed overhead switches. I'm sure it doesn't use much power. The caveat is we have rear window so there's a good line of site from Jeep to window to left of dash.

I would prefer inside but it instructs an outside, underneath mounting. Also, no back window with my U320.

Booster might be necessary for a 40 or 45 ft coach with more obstructions. I would mount it by the camera in that case. Or maybe at the license plate.

I mounted ours on the back inside passenger's side wall of the middle storage bay. Must be okay as the sensors for everything have always worked.
I tied into a dome light wore for power and installed a simple toggle switch to allow it to be turned off when not using for a long time.
There have been a couple of times when I forgot to flip the switch on and sure enough it didn't pick up a few sensors.

Mine is mounted on the crossbar under the air cleaner. The place where it is attached to
the coach power was done with maretts and they cut the wires to the booster and then I
was getting an alarm that one tire was out of contact. On this trip I haven't had any false
alarms.

All good ideas, and I just learned that wire nuts have a name. This is our first long distance trip and I'd like to not worry about it. Pulling a toad on a dolly so I want to monitor that to. Plenty of other things to keep tabs on.
