Valve stem cap doohickey

What is this? It's on the end of my valve stem.

A flow through valve stem cap. Kind of a grey area in the DOT rules that states you have to have valve stem caps.

That is an air through valve cap. You can check/air tires without removing the cap. I'm not a fan of them, I had one that got some grit in and slowly leaked, I use metal caps now.

Got it. Thanks guys. They have to come off for extensions and my TPMS sensors anyways.

You can add air to tires without removing that cap. If one leaks you need to change it
