Deactivating the hitch view

We recently purchased a 2022 FS450. I don't know if other FT's have this feature, but when shifting into reverse, the rear view camera rotates into "hitch view." It displays the far bottom rear of the MH and only what is very close behind it. Thus, it will not show that I'm about to hit a tree limb since the view is pretty much just straight down. This requires either always using a spotter when backing up or constantly switching back and forth to forward gear which will then display the usual rear view on the monitor. As a Motorcade member, I called FT and their service department said that it was a feature that had no options. It seems to me that the camera would not rotate downward if the reverse gear signal wasn't sent to it. I don't know if that signal could be interrupted going into the camera or going into the monitor in the dash (without interrupting anything else, of course). Getting into the dash area behind the monitor is very easy. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Thank you for responding.

That's makes sense. I would add a override switch to enable operation when needed

I think you have a Total Vision camera. In my coach the control box is located on right side as you enter the door. I guess I am lucky that I don't have that option.

I downloaded the manuals,  and didn't see anything about going to hitch view when in reverse.  Possibly you have a different camera.

On my 1995 U320 the previous owner moved the joy stick controlled search light from the front roof of the coach to the back where the rear camera was mounted.
He removed the existing rear camera and installed it in the search light base.
I could move the camera up and straight down and left and right.
I could point it down while driving to look at the hitch or up to see behind me.
Loved it!
