2001 10k powertech generator bearing

So to distract myself from my cooling unit issues my bearing for my generator showed up 68$ 02BRG6206 part number on box is HCH 6206 2RS C3 made in China but they all are. TIMKEN 6206-2RSC3 2 Pcs Double Rubber Seal Bearings 30x62x16mm, C3 Clearance,...
$20 for two also Chinese
Anyway sounds like on mine I remove end cap pull bearing and reinstall bearing and end cap. Am I to understand that there is no wiring on my model? Four flat head screws and two threaded holes to reinsert to pull cover?
Any info is appreciated. I can call Jeff in the morning also if there is any doubts.

So yes you can remove bearing with end cap attached however there are wires so I'm assuming the complete end must be removed. Generator hours 929 hours and bearing although working well is in the last stages of life. Never heard back from Powertech, probably closed on Friday.  Another point for the Foretravel forum. Tragedy avoided at minimal cost. IMO if you have a similar year coach regardless of the hours change the end bearing. Cheapest $20 you ever spent. Possibly the most return!

Scott looking at you picture wouldn't you just remove the 4 screws and just take the end off.

That's what I did but wires still attached to end cap. Concerned if I was to reinstall they might be touching something rotating then quickly shorty out. Speaking of those 4 screws. Just got back from local hardware store who happens to carry a outstanding supply of weird good hardware and replaced them with Allen head quality bolts 88cents each. Actually priceless after beating on old cheap screws to get them out. Slotted screws 😩.    8mm x 1.25 x 20mm long

I have the other style exciter which takes taking the exciter off so it is a bit of work.
I would have gotten ride of the slotted screw too. Hopefully someone who has that
style of exciter will give you the answer.

Cooled the shaft and heated bearing to 200 and tapped on without issue. Installed end cap seemed loose and free when installed. Assisted wires out of top of generator during install. Torqued cap mount screws securely. Got two forward mount bolts in before it got dark tomorrow is another day

dredging up an old thread here.  Scott I'm not clear do you have the brush style generator or the brushless?  Are you the fully enclosed "quiet box" or the older style open generator?  Did you have to completely remove the generator from the coach and did you have to remove the excite coils to access the bearing?

Not Scott but, his is the enclosed box and brushless. Also you have to remove the exciter coil to do the bearing. There are 2 wires that have to be dealt with. They go to the regulator. I unplugged them from the regulator and fished them out and in rather than cutting and using a butt connector.
