Question about micowave convection oven with built in air fryer

So the old Sharpe MV convection oven is on its last legs. DW asking about the three way MV Convection  air fryer rigs. Anybody have any experience  with these. If so would you share. Thanks Andy.

Ps. We had the counter version , but she wants the combo .

Air fryer mode is basically convection oven mode.  That's all an air fryer is - a small convection oven.  Maybe the 3-way ones add an additional radiant element, but I think it's more likely that "3 way" means you can run microwave, convection oven, or combo (much like you can the Sharp).

Speed ovens like a GE Advantium also have a high output quartz radiant element that assists in browning.  Trust me in saying it doesn't replace a toaster oven if you want to make toast or toast a bagel in a reasonable amount of time.  I do like that the Advantium has a fixed rack capability that allows you to bake a 9x13 pan (sheet cake, lasagna, etc.) and would look for that feature in any model under consideration.

AFAIK, the Sharp models are the only ones with a common turntable material for bake vs. microwave.  Nearly all the others require you to swap the turntable - glass for micro, metal for bake/speed.  Sharp uses a high-heat ceramic composite (or at least used to)

We just replaced our Sharp convection micro and yes. Still the same turntable for either job.  We shopped hard for a 3 way unit but no joy on one that would fit.  Some door designs won't work.

Second the option on toast in the air fryer... not.
