powertech 8k - 2000 U270 Generator No Start

Generator no start.

- house battery full
- inside push rocker switch no start - both light blink fast then nothing
- out side switch clicks with power switch in on position - no click when in the off position.

what can it be?

What is DC voltage at the generator when trying to start?

I would look at the control wireing. On my 99 10kw open generator there is a latching relay in the control box. Does your fuel pump start ticking when you hit the on switch. Might giv Jeff at powertech a call Monday (352) 435-4416 have your model and serial no before you call.

Check the fuse on the front of the gen.  Follow the wiring diagram to see what could prevent crank.  Open box and look around for loose wire or relay.

I keep a spare on the coach as it is one of the fail and go home items. If you can't get one quickly enough let me know even though I am in L.A U.S,P.S is how it was shipped to me.

hmmmm  when I start my generator I never hear ticking, but it starts just fine!
