My Xantrex Freedom SW3000 which is a 2011? model does not allow for any custom charge profiles and does not have a Lithium charge profile.  The SW3012 does have a custom setting for Lithium I believe.

I was told by a lithium battery vendor that the AGM setting is OK for lithium. I would verify that with your battery vendor.

I have Battle Born lithium batteries and they say it is OK to use an AGM charge profile. I would think the same should hold for other brands, but I would check with the manufacturer to be sure.

My response from battle born with regards to my Xantrex Prosine 2.5:

Mark,

Thank you for your email and interest in our batteries.

After taking a look through the manual it does appear that this inverter/charger utilizes a three-stage charge profile. Based on the 2 battery types and other optional settings we would recommend the flooded lead acid battery type and a warm temp setting. This would set the charging voltage at 14.4 and the float voltage at 13.5 which are spot on for our lithium batteries.

So you would unplug the temp sensor and configure the switches to warm.

I've not actually tried this as my AGM's are still holding up.

I just purchased a set of Battle Born batteries and before purchasing I confirmed the Xantrex Prosine 2.5 would work. The Technician / salesperson mentioned that Battle Born used to sell the Xantrex line of chargers. Also once installation is completed of the batteries he said to call back and he would go thru the recommended charger setting's (DIP switches settings) for the batteries.

The only issue with the 8D batt's, is there going to be very tight and might require modifying the battery tray, I originally thought I was for sure going have to modify the battery tray, but after receiving the batteries today and taking measurements they just might fit, If there is going to any issue's it will be the clearance at the top, they flare up and have a flange at the top, the base looks like it will fit in the battery tray.

If now it would only stop raining so I could the get the old 165 lbs. beasts out and Install the Battle Born's.

Update:I have installed my Epoch 460Ah lithium-ion 12V battery and tested, it is charging perfectly. The battery charged to 13.8 volts and indicated on the Bluetooth app that it is 100 percent charged. The battery reached about 99% at 13.7 volts and was fully charged at 13.8 volts, with approximately 3.45 volts per cell. The charger then tapered down and eventually stopped charging at 13.8 volts, which is the float setting. The settings on the inverter are Gel-warm setting with a battery size of 150Ah. I set the inverter charge  to 150AH to control the charging Amps as the setting of 150Ah battery is limited to 50 amps of charge, which is the recommended charge amperage for my battery. These settings are subject to some changes if needed, but everything is working perfectly. At times, it would go above the 50 amps setting but basically fluctuates within plus or minus 10 amps of charge.  50 amps charge +- 10 amps. (Prosine2.5)
