Lost Key

Hello folks,
I need a little help. Locked the MH up a couple months ago and all my keys disappeared.
So I drilled out the deadbolt and got inside but have not found the ignition key. FT sent me to NAPA
for a new one(KS6491) but I cannot get the original ignition out. I don't want to damage the existing one before
I know the NAPA version will work. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

You usually need the key to get the ignition switch out. The bezel that holds it in doesn't come off with the lock tumblers in place. Probably need a locksmith to remove the key mechanism to not do any damage to the dash.

Just to the right of the Key slot there is a hole, just big enough to get the straight part of a paperclip into.  I don't think you need a working key, but you need one that will fit in the slot. Push in on the paperclip while attempting to turn the key clockwise and it should turn  I think 1/4 turn and the cylinder will be released and should pull out. Then if that works take that to the lock smith to have a key made. I am trying to recall this information from about forty years ago. So I hope it works... ^.^d

You need a working key to get the 1/4 turn to release the cylinder lock.

Any thoughts on the cylinder from NAPA? I am picking it up today as it's only $15.
Will keep you posted. Thanks

Here are a bunch of YouTube videos on how to remore a Ford ignition cylinder with no key: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=remove+ford++ignition+cylinder+without+key. Think your coach has Ford ignition cylinder.
I lose the TV remote and my wallet almost everyday. So, when we got our U300 home, I made three sets of everything to do with the coach. Cheap and saved my bacon a couple of times. Our new dog steals Gaylie's TV list now so found a blank book to write down what we have seen, etc.

So you must rotate to change. Drill out with a 3/32 drill the brass lock pins till it will rotate. Once you can rotate then you can go to the accessory  position and insert the pin to continue rotating slightly pulling outward

I haven't removed the key from the ignition in my coach once in 5 years.  Can't lose it that way.  But I don't have kids.

Same here but make it 9 years the day we bought the coach.

Fortunately for me I watched a tech at MOT unlocking the drivers side window to gain entrance. I leave an extra set of keys to everything inside the coach. I don't know if the windows are designed the same on the 225s as my Nimbus.
