Replacing the Steering Wheel Pad/Center Cap

wear 1.jpg wear 2.jpg Our steering wheel pad/center cap was very worn on the two button sides. I don't know if this is wear is typical or if the original owner had a nervous habit.

The P/N for the pad is PC107XX where XX is the MFG logo code, like FT for ForeTravel.  I found that some new old stock PC107HR for $20.75 +shipping.  Holiday Rambler Center cap for SmartWheel PC107HR

hex bolt.jpg The pad/center cap is held with a single captive hex bolt,  just loosen it until the pad releases. 

crumbs.jpg Here the forensics indicate a right-handed driver (or at least eater) who enjoyed pretzels and granola bars.

rev b.jpg rev e.jpg Looking at the new pad and the difference from the one installed, the only change was the revision code.  Ours was a Rev B and the replacement was a Rev E.  The difference I could see was that Rev B had the logo directly attached (double-sided tape) to the cap and Rev E has the logo attached (double-sided tape) to a snap in button.

logo on pin.jpg done.jpgThe old 'Classic' FT logo came off like a champ. I used a trim panel removal "wedge" to gently pry it off.  The HR logo also popped right off the new attachment post.  Stuck the FT logo on the new post and reinstalled ... and just like that, Bob's your uncle.

Surprisingly, given the findings, it's the only place we haven't found a dead mouse.

At least you are finding them dead. 

The other night I was in the coach in the garage and looked out the window and saw a rat moving around the garage. We have at least 4 of the bait houses around the garage.  Went to Home Depot and got a sticky pad and put where I saw the rat moving around.  Next morning rat was stuck to the pad.
