water pump

Old Shurflo pump leaking. I bought a new Artis pump for replacement. The Shurflo pump has three wires: 2 positives (red) and 1 negative (ground). The positives connect to the pump through what looks like a relay. The new Artis has only 2 wires: positive and ground. I don't know if this pump is going to work properly with just pos and neg connections.

Any experience/thoughts with this?

All woter pumps are powered with one positive red connected to pressure switch, and one negative, so your Artis should work. Where do the two positive wires go to on the Shurflo. Previous owners may have made custom changes, like connecting a wire to the pump motor after the pump pressure switch, to learn when pump is running

A couple of pictures may help.

I'd guess the old pump probably has a pressure relay switch that is not integrated to the electrics of the pump, and on the new one its integrated.  If so you should be able to just use the +/- and the new pumps internal relay will turn it off when its at pressure.  Thats my guess.
