RetroBands

Anyone running RetroBands in there steer tires?  They are somewhat pricey but what is peace of mind worth?  Of course, only NIRVC can install them...

If ONLY NRVC can install them,  what are you going to do if you have a flat on the road? Get towed all the way to NRVC?

They give you instructions to give to your tire guy for him to be able to remove it.  Then get your new tire.  Make an appointment at NIRV to get a new one reinstalled for no charge to the original purchaser. When they first came out they were outright selling them and installing them. In a short period of time they found out that outside people installing them were not paying attention to the instructions and they were failing.  I guess after all of the problems they stopped letting others install them.

Spartan for a few years sold their version, but stopped maybe a year or so. Never heard the reason for for them not selling them anymore.

In order to get them installed your tires have to be only so old. I don't remember what the age is but it is not very old.

We don't currently have them, but are considering them for the steer axle when we need new tires.  At that point, we need to find out if NIRVC does Toyo tires.
